Waiting for Subs

Image
Maybe it's because episodes are, on average, longer than necessary, but it feels like episodes are taking much longer to be subbed. I have nothing but respect for subbers, I just also have no patience. There are many dramas I'm hooked on these days, which I couldn't say often last year.  Nothing to Lose Finished! I can't pretend that I'm not disappointed in how this drama panned out. I was so excited by Park Eun Bin and Eun Woo Jin's casting. I think the key point where the drama fell flat for me was Park Eun Bin's character Lee Jung Joo. I was imagining a fiery judge with a vengeance. Jung Joo was crazy in many ways in the beginning, but she was also very clumsy. She was called the "knuckle headed" judge. And as the show progressed, she grew sober, which made her character meek. On top of my dislike of her character, the romance was also highly disappointing. There were all these subtle, little interactions between Jung Joo and Eui Hy...

It's a New Year

Image
It's a new year and I think everyone is hoping this one will be better than the last. Even last year's dramas were lacking. If anything, I think this will be a year of reflection and acceptance, which may not necessarily bring wonders at this moment, but will make everything that much more meaningful for years to come. I'm Not a Robot I find it hilarious that Min Gyu thought Aji 3 had "deep learned" to fall in love with him. When you think about it, Ji Ah did "deep learn" affection for Min Gyu. In a way, all of our emotions and thoughts are processed by our bodies, which makes Ji Ah no different from Aji 3. It's a really strange concept. I also thought it was hilarious when Ji Ah defending Min Gyu in  her polka dotted disguise. She did all of that, but her brother and ex knew it was her anyways. And then it was heartbreaking when he wished she could be human. I can only imagine how heartbreaking the next handful of episodes will be when he...

It's Beginning to Feel a Little Like Christmas

Image
I'm on break now, which would make you think that I should have a lot of time to relax now. That's a joke because I've been spending that past week making gifts for people and catching up on work I couldn't get done throughout the semester. I'm getting a lot done! I was also strangely affected by Shinee's Johghyun's death for a couple days. I'm not a big fan of kpop, let alone Shinee, but there was something really shocking about the whole situation. I couldn't stop crying for a while, but I really want to focus on brighter things now. Temperature of Love I made it to episode 26! I was secretly really happy when Hyun Soo's mom gave Jung Sun's mom side eye. First of all, she was basically wearing a disco ball in sweater form. Second of all, she's really obnoxious. She's always lying, hiding her true emotions (which she also lies about), and pretending that her life is perfect when it so obviously isn't. There seems to be...

My Favorite Time of The Year

Image
It's currently the time of the season between Thanksgiving and Christmas. It's late fall. It's my favorite time of the year. Everything starts to wind down and there's a feeling of relief. Everything is peppermint flavored and everything is on sale! It's wonderful. All that's missing is the snow.✨ Because This Is My First Life Lee Chung Ah, you home wrecker! First Lucky Romance, now this? Just kidding, she was actually really cool as Jung Min, but I was seriously annoyed by her appearance. I know she had to be addressed at some point because she left the poetry book for Se Hee and Ji Ho found it. However, that whole part of the plot seemed unnecessary. I think Ji Ho's discussion with Se Hee's father was far more meaningful. It addressed the true societal expectations of marriage and Ji Ho's self identified inability to meet those expectations. And I think Ji Ho handled the whole situation very poorly. For the most part of the show, I rel...
