                          I like to think of my drama watching habits as a bucket being placed under a leaking roof. There are new dramas coming out every week that I want to catch. But at the same time I have a backlog of dramas from months ago I've never finished. I catch the new ones as episodes come out and if I have time I work on the ones that already ended and I never got to. This past week, the roof has been leaking, but the water droplets are stuck between the roof panes (the episodes I want to watch are not being subbed), so I've been going back to deal with the water that has been collecting in the bucket.                        The Best Hit I finished this bad boy recently. The vast and rapid influx of new dramas seems to be calming down lately. And thank god for me because I think if I tried to add anymore at this point, my head would explode. My summer is winding down and I'm running out of time, so here's hoping I can start to catch up with everything I've left behind. Bride of the Water God 2017 Ok I still don't understand Hu Ye's purpose exactly. Is he actually the antagonist? Is he rivaling Habaek as emperor of the god realm? I'm guessing that will come more into focus in the next couple of episodes. I definitely wasn't expecting Bi Ryum's mischievousness to turn so dark. It gives me little bit more appreciation for his character, but he still doesn't really carry the gravity of a god. And Mura most certainly doesn't either. She may look like a goddess, but she's pretty whiny and obnoxious for someone 3,000 years old. I wonder if she'll always stay that way or if she'll have some actua...

Some dramas caught me by surprise this week, causing a sudden attack addiction. Some disappointed me as the week went on. And some fell through the cracks. Which dramas captured my heart this week? Let's find out. The Best Hit I'm starting to get really confused by the time jump. I started being confused when Hyun Jae and Young Jae were shown to have the same sheet music book, which is constantly changing for the other. Why is that possible? What are the rules here? But what really confuses me is that I always assumed Hyun Jae was assumed to disappear after he travelled to the future. But now apparently, he was actively interacting with people and being seen up to a year after he travelled. This would mean that the Hyun Jae that travelled to the future in 1993 is a different Hyun Jae that disappeared in 1994. So if he travelled in 1993, did another version of himself suddenly pop up in his place? And where did this other version of himself disappear to? Is there some...

I went into the Adirondacks for a few days without much internet access. Then I traveled back home on a bus for most of the day so I haven't had as much time to watch dramas this week, but I still caught an episode or 2 from most of my ongoing shows. Ruler, Master of the Mask I just finished episode 14 (yes still very behind) and I find Pyunsoo group problematic as the center of the story. It's just kind of ridiculous and wholly unbelievable. This group is obviously fictional  and never occurred in history. So to make this fictional dark shadow eating away at Joseon almost turns the setting into some kind of dystopian sageuk. And alternate history as a genre is not new, but it has to be done well to work and it's just not working for Ruler. Another thing that seems blatantly out of place? The LEOPARD PRINT. Every week a new drama that peaks my interest begins and I'm trying reeeeaaallly hard to not let any fall through the cracks, but there are only so many hours in the day and only so many days in the week. Here are the dramas I'm sincerely trying to keep up with. Circle I just finished episode 4 and I'm confused. I really thought Kim Joon Hyuk is Kim Woo Jin 20 years in the future. They're both the main characters so it would make sense. But I did have suspicions about this set up very early on because their personalities don't match up. I just assumed this was due to an inconsistency in acting, or directing, or writing, or just to make it less obvious for the audience. However, I'm thinking maybe, just maybe, Joon Hyuk is, in fact, Woo Jin and there's a misunderstanding. Because remember how he's watching his twin's memories, not his own. So how would he know how his past self feels about events, he would only know about Bum Gyun's emot...
